Resize Any Photo to 1000 x 1500 for Pinterest

Horizontal camera photos and odd-sized graphics do not fit the tall 2:3 shape Pinterest favors. This resizer fills a 1000 by 1500 canvas with your image, cover-cropping it so there are no empty bars. Leave the title blank and you get a clean resized photo; add one if you want a headline as well. It is a quick fix for photos that arrive in the wrong shape.

How to use the pinterest image resizer

    1. Add the photo to resize

Drag the image in, paste it with Ctrl+V, or choose a file. Any common size works, from a wide camera shot to a small graphic. The photo is scaled to cover the 1000 by 1500 canvas, and extra width or height is cropped off equally.

    2. Decide on a title

Clear the title field to export only the cropped photo. Or keep a short headline to add a gradient and text at the bottom. Without a title, the picture is the whole pin. Check that the crop keeps your subject in the frame.

    3. Download the resized PNG

Press Ctrl+Enter to save the 1000 by 1500 PNG. Your original file is untouched. Upload the result to Pinterest with a description and link. For other shapes, switch to the square or story size and download again. Your original stays exactly as it was.

    What you get

The work happens in your browser, so the original file is never uploaded and stays untouched on your device. There is no sign-up and no watermark on the PNG. Choose the 1080 by 1920 or 1000 by 1000 size if you need a different shape instead. Treat it as a quick utility for any picture that needs to become a pin.

    Cover-crop, never stretch

The photo is scaled until it fills the canvas, then cropped to fit, so proportions stay natural and faces do not stretch. A subject near the center is safest. If an important part gets cut, choose another photo or crop it beforehand so the subject sits closer to the middle. Choosing photos with the subject near the center gives the best result.

    Title is optional

Empty the title and the export is just your photo at the right size, without a gradient or text. That is handy when your image already has its own text or when you only need a correctly shaped file. Add a title later if you decide the pin needs one. The same applies to the square and story sizes. Use that for photos that arrive with unwanted text or watermarks already on them.

    Three Pinterest-friendly sizes

1000 by 1500 is the default 2:3 vertical, 1080 by 1920 is a full-screen story format and 1000 by 1000 is a square. Switch between them without re-adding the photo. Each export is a PNG with no watermark, and the original remains unchanged. Use the one that matches where the image will be seen. Pick a size, check the preview and download, with no re-importing or extra settings to adjust.

Your files never leave your device

The resize is done by your browser. Nothing is uploaded to a server and no account exists to hold your images. That makes it a comfortable choice for client photos, personal pictures and work in progress, and it works for quick one-off jobs without any setup. It is a straightforward utility with no account behind it. Open the page, drop in the photo and leave with a file, which suits quick tasks you might repeat dozens of times a month.

    Great for

    • Landscape photos that need a vertical pin version
    • Phone photos in odd aspect ratios
    • Product images exported for a Pinterest upload
    • Preparing photos before adding a headline elsewhere
    • Quick square or story-format versions of the same picture

    Pinterest Image Resizer FAQs

Will the resizer stretch my image?

No. It scales the photo until it covers the canvas and crops the overflow, so proportions are preserved. Because of the crop, a very wide photo loses some of its sides in a tall 2:3 pin. Choose a photo with the subject near the middle.

How do I export the photo with no text?

Leave the title field empty. The export is then just your cover-cropped photo at the chosen size. The site name printed at the bottom is what remains, so clear that too if you want an entirely clean image. Then download the image as usual.

    Does resizing reduce the quality?

If the original is smaller than the canvas it is enlarged, which can look soft, so start with a photo at least 1000 pixels wide when you can. Larger originals are reduced to the canvas size and stay sharp. A sharp original gives a sharper pin.

    Is anything uploaded or stored?

No. The resize is performed locally in your browser, and your photo is not uploaded. The tool has no sign-up and adds no watermark. Only the PNG you download exists as a new file, saved on your device. Use it as often as you need.

Is this pin maker really free with no watermark?

Yes. Every layout, size and export is free, with no sign-up and no watermark on the PNG. The only branding on your pin is the site name you type in.

    Are my photos uploaded?

No. Photos are processed inside your browser tab and never sent to a server. Closing the tab discards them.
