Pinterest Headline Analyzer

Score up to five versions of a pin title side by side and see exactly what to change in each one.

The search phrase you want the pin to rank for.

Scores come from writing rules of thumb, not from Pinterest data. They cannot predict clicks; test your top two titles on real pins.

Score a whole list from a spreadsheet

Import a .csv or .xlsx file, such as a Pinterest bulk upload file, and every title in it is scored with the keyword above. A column named Title is picked for you. The file stays on your device.

How to use the Pinterest Headline Analyzer

    1. 1

      Add your keyword and titles

Enter the search phrase you want the pin to show up for, then type two to five versions of the title. The first three boxes have examples you can overwrite.

    2. 2

      Read the ranking

Each title gets a score out of 100 and a list of notes. Amber notes are the fixes worth making; green notes show what already works. The highest scoring title is outlined.

    3. 3

      Rewrite and test

Edit the weaker titles using the notes and watch the scores change. Publish the top two on separate pin designs and compare outbound clicks in Pinterest Analytics after a few weeks.

The title is the first thing people read on a pin and one of the main signals Pinterest uses to understand what the pin is about. Strong pin titles tend to share a few habits: they lead with the search phrase, promise something specific, use a number where it fits and avoid filler. This analyzer checks each of those habits and explains every point it takes away.

Write up to five versions of the same title and they are ranked from best to worst as you type. The scores are rules of thumb drawn from common copywriting advice, not a prediction of clicks; Pinterest does not publish how titles are ranked. Use the analyzer to pick your two strongest versions, then publish both as separate pins and let real results decide. For a whole batch, bulk mode imports titles from a CSV or Excel file and scores every one in a sortable table you can export.

    How the score works

Length is worth 30 points: 30 to 70 characters scores best, because the title stays readable and leaves room for detail, and anything over 100 characters is cut off by Pinterest. Keyword placement is worth 20: the full phrase in the first few words scores highest. A specific number earns 15, one to three power or feeling words such as easy, budget or cozy earn 15, avoiding vague words such as things or stuff earns 10, and readability earns 10, with points lost for long words, ALL CAPS, repeated punctuation and emoji.

Without a target keyword the placement check gives half marks, so add one for a fair comparison. The word lists are short and deliberate; a title can be excellent without any of them, which is why the notes matter more than the number.

What makes a good pin title

Start with the words people type into Pinterest search, then add the reason to click: a result, an audience or a constraint. "Fall Soup Recipes: 5 Ingredient Soups Ready in 30 Minutes" works because the keyword comes first and the rest is concrete. "Some Really Good Soup Ideas You Will Love!!!" says almost nothing a searcher can use.

    Pinterest Headline Analyzer FAQ

How long should a Pinterest title be?

Pinterest allows up to 100 characters. Many marketers aim for roughly 40 to 70 so the main words are readable before anything is cut off on smaller screens. Put the keyword and the main promise first either way.

Do pin titles affect Pinterest SEO?

Pinterest says it uses the text on and around a pin, including the title, to understand what the pin is about and show it in relevant searches. A clear title that contains the search phrase helps with that.

Should I use numbers in pin titles?

When the content has a natural count, time or price, yes. "12 Easy Desk Organization Ideas" tells people what they get. Do not add a number that the page does not deliver.

Can this analyzer predict which pin will get more clicks?

No. It scores titles against common writing rules. Clicks also depend on the image, the audience, the season and how Pinterest distributes the pin, so test your best titles on real pins.

What are power words for Pinterest titles?

Words that signal a clear benefit or feeling, such as easy, quick, budget, beginner, step-by-step, cozy or printable. One or two help; a title packed with them sounds like an ad.

Can I score many pin titles at once from a spreadsheet?

Yes. Below the analyzer, click Import CSV or Excel and choose a .csv or .xlsx file, such as a Pinterest bulk upload file. Every title in the Title column is scored with your keyword in a table you can sort by score, length or main issue. Download the results as a CSV, or send the top five to the comparison above.
