How to use the Channel Art to Board Covers

    1. 1

      Upload your channel art

Drop the banner file from your YouTube design. Any wide image works, and a sample banner shows the layout before you upload.

    2. 2

      Name your boards

Pick 3 to 8 covers, type one board name per line, then click a cover in the preview to pan or zoom its crop.

    3. 3

      Download the set

Download every cover plus the 1600 × 900 profile cover in one ZIP named after your channel, then set each one as a board cover on Pinterest.

Viewers who find you on Pinterest should recognize your channel at a glance. Your YouTube banner already has your colors, faces and style, so reusing it for board covers and the profile cover ties the two accounts together. When someone clicks through from a pin to your profile, a row of covers cut from the same artwork tells them this is the channel they already know.

Upload the 2560 × 1440 banner you made for YouTube, choose how many boards you have, and the tool cuts the art into square slices that sit side by side, each with its board name on top. You can move and zoom any single cover to frame a face or a logo, and the profile cover is cropped from the same image. The image is drawn in your browser and never uploaded.

    How the slices line up

In even slices mode the covers are cut side by side from the middle band of the banner, from left to right in board order. Put your boards in the same order on your profile and the artwork reads almost like one strip across the grid.

Banners often have empty edges, because YouTube crops them on phones. If a slice lands on plain background, select it and slide it toward a more interesting part of the art, or zoom in on a detail such as a mascot or a product.

Board names that also help search

Board names are read by Pinterest search, so name boards after what people look for, such as "Beginner Guitar Lessons" rather than "Season 2". Keep the cover text short so it stays readable in the small grid, and use the board description for the longer version.

If you need more ideas, the board name generator suggests searchable names. For covers built from colors and fonts instead of your art, use the board cover set maker.

Channel Art to Board Covers FAQ

What size are Pinterest board covers?

Board covers display as squares, so this tool exports each one at 600 × 600 pixels. Pinterest picks the cover from the pins saved to a board, so save the cover as a pin to that board first and then choose it as the cover.

What size is YouTube channel art?

YouTube asks for a 2560 × 1440 banner. Any image works here, but a wide, high resolution file gives sharper covers because each square slice uses only part of the banner.

What size is the profile cover?

The profile cover is exported at 1600 × 900, a 16:9 shape. A YouTube banner is also 16:9, so the whole banner fits, and you can zoom in if the edges are empty.

Can I change the crop of just one cover?

Yes. Click the cover in the preview and use the position and zoom sliders. Use Reset all crops to return every cover to even slices.

Is my channel art uploaded anywhere?

No. The image is read and drawn by your browser, and the ZIP is built on your device. Nothing is sent to a server.
